Clifton Ross, III

Clifton Ross III, most recently one of the top 3 finalists on season 8 of the nationally televised Black Entertainment Television (BET) Sunday Best (gospel music's American Idol), is originally from Detroit, MI and has made a second home in the Washington, DC area. He is an alum of Howard University and one of the musical directors at Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, MD. Clifton travels often both nationally and internationally (Italy, Slovakia) as a featured vocalist, background vocalist, workshop facilitator and musical director. Clifton was featured on two nationally released projects -- Good Anyhowon Byron Cage's Memoirs of A Worshipperand His Record Is Goodon Vashawn Mitchell's album entitled Created 4 This.
Clifton released his debut EP entitled I Believe Godin October (2016) and it is available on digital and streaming outlets and physical copies are available at cliftonrossiii.com. The EP debuted at #6 on the Billboard top gospel/Christian charts, #7 on the iTunes top gospel/Christian charts and his single I Believe Godis currently impacting radio. Clifton's 4 track EP, I Believe Godis an empowering collection of music for anyone on a journey and it meets listeners at every point of their journey. When asked about his life work, what he hopes to accomplish – he is confident. ‘I just want to complete my assignment. It may be through a song or the warmth of a hug; wherever I am I just want to do my part. My career and experience has spanned various industries including manufacturing, insurance and retail. My primary focus has been within the Accounting and Finance functions leading teams and organizations focused on improving the bottom line. My hope in this role is to combine acquired business acumen and non-profit volunteer leadership experience with my true passion for the cause and the mission here at ADA to increase awareness, improve fundraising efforts and advocacy to levels not yet seen!
I look forward to working alongside all of our supporters to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. From here on out, I won’t be thinking alone. I am lucky to be joining a fantastic team and an inspiring community. Together, we will get to know places, meet people and explore challenges that can make a difference.

Joan Bardsley, MBA, RN CDE, FAADE, serves as Assistant Vice President, Nursing and Research Integration for the MedStar Health Research Institute (MHRI) and MedStar Corporate Nursing. In this role, Joan serves as the nursing lead for MHRI, administrator for MedStar Health’s Nursing Collaborative Governance Councils, and serves on the Executive Committee for the Research Institute and Senior Leadership for corporate nursing
A registered nurse and certified Diabetes Educator, Joan is a co-investigator on several federally funded studies for diabetes education and management research through the MedStar Diabetes Institute. Also within the system, Joan serves as a representative to MedStar's Chief Nursing Council and Nursing Research Consortium.
A member of the MedStar Health Research Institute leadership team since 1993, Joan received her bachelor's in nursing from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA and her MBA from George Washington University in Washington, DC. She is former President of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), and is Chair Elect of the National Certification Board for Diabetes Education.

I've worked in radio with Icons Donnie Simpson, Melvin Lindsey (creator of Quiet Storm format), Congressman Harold Ford Sr and Jr, HBO and once was responsible for 14 hours of programming at B.E.T. I'm also the former publicist Boyz II Men and BabyFace.
In past years I have managed an entertainment public relations firm based in Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA, with a client list that included: Radio personalities, Athletes, Politicians, Entertainment and recording celebrities. I’ve also worked with Web and print media giant Congressional Quarterly known as "the bible of Capitol Hill".
Clients I have worked with as spokesperson or PR agent have included: Baseball Champions Darryl Strawberry and Eric Davis; Boxing Champions Thomas “The Hit man” Hearns and Terry Norris; Grammy Award winning producer, writer and singer, Kenneth “BabyFace” Edmonds; Football Champion Deion “Prime Time” Sanders; Grammy Award winning recording artists Boyz II Men, Janet Jackson, Prince, and Bobby Brown. These are just a few of the clients whose careers I have been able to enhance with my experience and knowledge.
In recent years I have focused my skills on me. As I was once was dangerously ill with diabetes and didn’t know it. Now 200 pounds lighter, I'm a healthy living fitness enthusiast and as Diabetes Awareness Advocate, Healthy Living Speaker & Author. I've been able to travel the country speaking to communities bringing awareness to the resources available to prevent and fight Diabetes. I have written my first book on living with Diabetes and how it has turned my life around. And the road ahead looks long and inviting, even without the cheeseburgers and fries I love.
I'm currently working on my next book a cook book and the other a semi-autobiographical about my almost twenty years in the entertainment and politics and my colorful friends (I see many books that can come from this one).
That one will be juicy as I have a lot to talk about.

Dr. Rashan Broadnax, a native of Newark NJ, has always held an interest in the arts. At an early age his parents fostered his love of music by enrolling him in the Newark Boys Chorus School, which afforded him the opportunity for extensive national and international travel. During his high school years at St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, he developed a keen interest in fashion. Shortly after his college years, Rashan was introduced to the Beauty Industry. It wasn't until he relocated from New Jersey to Washington, DC, that he pursued this interest by attending the reknowned Bennett Career Institute. There, Rashan completed the Cosmetology Program in 2006, Salon Managers Program in 2008, and the Barber-Styling Program in 2012 winning numerous awards for his professionalism, guest service expertise, and technical skill. Dr. Broadnax also became a member of the National Beauty Culturist League Inc. in 2011, and began his matriculation in the National Institute of Cosmetology, working towards a Doctorate of Professional Cosmetology, where he has also won First Place in the Trend Hair-Cutting Competition (2011/2013). After years of study at the National Institute, Rashan now holds a Doctorate Degree in Professional Cosmetology.

With a background in Business Management, Dr. Broadnax has successfully held the position of Salon Division Manager for the C. Alan Salons & Spas since 2007, as well as Executive Assistant to Mr. C. Alan Bennett, CEO of the Bennett Career Institute. In February of 2016, Rashan was promoted and announced as the new Creative Director for Bennett Career Institute, Washington DC's premier Cosmetology, Barbering, Makeup Artistry & Natural Hair Institute! to the position the Creative Director of the Bennett Career Institute.

Rashan, the proprietor of “The Red Chair“, is currently a Stylist, Barber, Makeup Artist and Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Specialist at the C. Alan Signature Salon, located at 705 Florida Avenue NW Washington, DC. He has successfully built a clientele based on his Customer Service and abilities in Natural Hair Silkening, Hair Weaving, Men’s Haircuts on Straight Hair, and Formal and Bridal Hair Styling. Mr. Broadnax is most known for promoting hair health and creating soft “free flowing” hair styles, all of which has afforded him to work with celebrities such as Claudinette Jean, Tasha Smith, Raven Symone’, Cheryl Lee Ralph, local television personalities and notable political figures. Since 2011, Rashan Broadnax has been the Lead Hair Designer for the Emerge! Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week, and currently leads a hair team for Macy's Incubator Fashion Shows in Washington, DC.

Christopher is a freelance fashion stylist and image consultant specializing in red carpet dressing, campaign, and fashion editorial and personal shopping services. Christopher is setting the standard among New York & DC’s fashion elite, impressing the industry with his eye for cutting edge style. He has a flare for detail whether it is designer - established or emerging - down to the high street and possesses the ability to mix labels, looks and trends to astounding effect.
Christopher’s rise to being a well-recognized fashion stylist saw him study fashion at it finest within high fashion retail stores, like Saks, Nordstrom & Neiman Marcus as a stylist. With his interest with the world’s fashion capital, Christopher built relationships working alongside leading fashion PR’s. These media skills have given him the added bonus of not just being a stylist, but an expertise to build and raise his clients profile within fashion and to foster an awareness of his client’s style, to introduce them to Custom Clothing.

Quickly making a name for himself Christopher started his own Image Consultant Company in 2006. Now not only can the company offer you a service of personal styling you. But the Couture Closet focus is Custom Clothing for the businessman and women. Christopher has dressed some of the most famous faces of the gospel, Radio, TV arena, as well as local news anchor personality’s. Christopher has dressed celebrities for the nationally known TV show BET Sunday’s Best, as well as the Stella Awards and many other high profile events. His creative eye has also seen him style top editorials ad campaigns.
